second walk of the weekend

Yesterday, I purchased a battery charger for my camera. I did this after MONTHS of denial that my old charger was irreparably missing. I had checked all my suitcases. All electrical outlets. Drawers I might have shoved it in. The office. My briefcase. Yesterday I finally cried 'uncle.'

Naturally, this morning I located the aforementioned missing charger. I am sure there is a scientific term for this phenomenon. . .

For our six mile walk, Mad and I decided to try a different direction. The upside to a new direction is you get to see new things. . .

The downside is you get to discover new terrain. We walked 3 miles up hill. Happily, we didn't have to walk 3 miles up hill BOTH ways!

We had our sights set on the West Saint Paul Starbucks.

I had forgotten how much I like the Asia Inn. Walking by it reminded me. I believe there is some shrimp fried rice in my future.

When we arrived at Starbucks, Mad discovered if you lean in close to the display case, you can cool off a bit. It was a hot and sunny afternoon today.

Mad ordered a cold coffee. Personally, I think serving cold coffee should be a felony offense. That said, it is perfectly legal to drink cold coffee in the State of MN and Mad happens to like it.

It turns out the West Saint Paul Starbucks is almost exactly 3 miles from our house. A happy coincidence for training purposes.

The orange and pink tulips in the back yard have arrived! Whoo hooo!!!
